UKRAINE
CHRISTIAN ADOPTION DONATION PROJECT
Our
prayer is that God blesses one thousand U.S. Christian families and direct
them our way so that many dear Ukrainian orphans could be adopted during a period
of time into loving Christian homes. By starting this project, we commit to
donate $US
1,000 with each of these 1000 families. As a matter of fact, this amount will
be included in our program fees. We will take it from our reasonable fees and
donate it on your and our behalf.
OUR DONATIONS:
Special
thanks to Mr. Dermot and Mrs. Sally O'Brien. They came to adopt in
October 2002 and adopted a girl from Kharkiv. As they chose our services, the
orphanage in Kharkiv, where their daughter was adopted from, received
5,000.00 hryvnas donated by us. The director of the orphanage was very
encouraged by these little extra funds, as orphans badly needed winter boots.
Special
thanks to Mr. Henry and Mrs. Karen Pritchett. While they have not yet
come to adopt, they made their funds available right away. Half of what we
plan to donate, 2,500.00 hryvnas, was already directed to help provide
prosthetics for a little girl, who was brought to Kiev from her orphanage specifically for
that purpose. The remaining 2,500.00 hryvnas will be donated when this family
actually comes in Ukraine.
It is planned for the first half of January 2003. Please pray for them and
the child that God would place on their hearts.
As of
now, March 2003, the family has asked to reschedule their travel date twice
due to different reasons and have finally decided to pull out of the program.
However, the family has made every effort to ensure that the donation money
would help some orphan in Ukraine.
Our decision was to direct the remaining 2,500.00 for tuition coverage of a
very talented special need orphan seeking a degree from the Kiev-Mogyla Academy.
Special
thanks to Mr. Gary and Mrs. LaurieAnn Marks. They came as Independent
adopters early December 2002 to adopt two children, a sibling group of a boy
and a girl, again from Kharkiv, but from a different orphanage. Because they
chose our services, orphans will have new custom-made children tables. The
orphanage director said it was the major need she could not fund otherwise.
Special
thanks to Mr. Wendell and Mrs. Denise Carroll. This family came to us
at the very last minute. Doing their adoption independently with us, they
went to Khmelnitsky
orphanage where they met their new son. Parents of 5 children now, Wendell
and Denise already started considering a possible return to Ukraine. Wow!
The donation money was going to be used by orphanage administration for daily
needs.
Special
thanks to Mr. Darrell and Mrs. Donna Lemons. After spending a month in
Ukraine,
this family returned home with FOUR children. It was quite difficult for us
technically and emotionally for the family as we completed THREE individual
adoptions in one trip. In the beginning, the family adopted 3 sibling
brothers. One was staying in Kramatorsk
and the other two in Maryinka. Later, the family made a decision to adopt
siblings' oldest brother. This time they completed the whole new adoption
process in Maryinka again.
The
donation was split in half between two orphanages - Kramatorsk and Maryinka. The Kramatorsk orphanage
director was especially happy to learn about our plans as he long waited to
accumulate enough funds to purchase and install an industrial sized
centrifugal machine for the orphanage. There was even a separate bank account
for that purpose alone. We were just happy to help.
Special
thanks to Mr. Ray and Mrs. Lori Walker. They adopted their son in
September 2003. Their contribution was donated to help Maryinka orphanage
where they adopted their son and to support special-need orphaned students in
their tuition and stipend needs.
Special
thanks to Mr. Clayton and Mrs. Natasha Bingham. Though their adoption
process was very intense as we were adopting two of their new sons from two
different towns that were 3 hours away from each other, they were able to
complete everything very quickly. They chose to even add some of their own
funds in addition to what has been allocated for donation project. Two
orphanages, in Bogoduhiv and Sahnovshina of Kharkiv region, received a brand
new computer and clothing respectively. As our continuous effort, they also
agreed to support special-need orphaned students of top Ukrainian
universities.
Special
thanks to Mr. Roland and Mrs. Cynthia Goodfellow who came in Ukraine in
October 2003. They chose not to continue to pursue their adoption in Ukraine.
However, they eagerly became a part of our project.
